The ranger is the lightest class in the game, and therefore also the most rapid. A skilled ranger is the perfect attacker and distance combater. His superior speed will help him to quickly snatch an artifact and run home without the defence being able to catch up with him. Thou he is very fragile so he must avoid close combat at any cost. He can still work close up, as long as the ranger keeps dodging enemy bullets, which can be hard when dealing with a gunner.

Type 72 Sniper Rifle
This distance weapon is the most powerful gun in the game, it inflicts severe damage and a headshot can almost kill a gunner. No shield is bullettproof when it comes to these bullets either. The only downside with this gun is that it fires quite slow and a clip can only hold 3 bullets, so good aiming skills are required for success. Due to the small amount of lag that is unavoidable on xmp servers, a ranger must learn to adapt. Sometimes when ping is a little worse than normal you have to aim an xmp meter or 2 in front of your target. Quite trixy but one will learn with time.
Primary fire fires a bullet in the direction you aim. Secondary lets you use the scoope. You can zoom in and out with switch weapon up and down. Warning if you zoom too much it will be hard to move the aim. this is a bugg which will never be removed.
Important to know is that when you fire a bullet others (enemies and friends) will see a trail behind the bullet, which will help them localize a ranger so don't think you can find a camping spot and stay there all day. Also use this yourself, if you see the tail try to zoom in on the end/startingpoint of it.
M406 40mm Grenade Launcher Explotion/Smoke
Primary attack fires of a grenade which explodes and gives splash damage. This can be useful in certain situation but I highly recommend the shock lance for vehicles and deployables. Use this when you fail in aim with the pistol or sniper on other players.
Secondary fires off a smoke grenade. This baby will cover the area you shoot at with thick smoke which noone can see through. Use it if you want to get out of a closecombat situation or need cover when you're running with an artifact. It is very useful when hacking. When someone hacks he is very vulnerable because he can't keep track of whats happening around him. If you see a team mate hacking or you need to hack something yourself, don't hesitate to throw out a smoke grenade!
P400 .50 Caliber Magnum Pistol
This very effective semi automated gun is the rangers best weapon in certain situations. In close combat it is very useful because it inflicts lots of damage and fires both accurately and fast. It is also extremely useful as a finish-him weapon. Hit someone with the sniper rifle and then finish him with the pistol. Both easy and frustrating for your enemy.
Primary fires off normal bullets, it's important you don't hold down the fire button but keep klicking on it. You'll fire like twice as fast that way.
Secondary fires a burst of bullets (3 actually) which inflicts lots of damage but is also quite hard to hit with. Use at own risk.
Izarian Shock Lance
The rangers anti-vehicle and deployable weapon. Primary rapidly fires small energy cores which have good speed. These can be useful against deployables and vehicles which have low health left or are moving. Some people even use it to frag, but i think thats a bad idea. Since it first damages the shield and then health.
Secondary fire launches a slow going energy core, which floats in the air against what you aimed at. Since its so slow you really need to learn how far in front of a vehicle you need to shoot to hit. It is very effective against deployables and manned turrets though, which are not moving.
Health packs
This one makes you throw out an orange pack that can be picked up by both friends and foes. It heals the character with a third of its health, so 3 packs fills a characters health. Note, it drains about 1/4 of your personal energy var so it doesn't have an ammo count it self. It can only be used when your team energy level is at 750.
Special ability: Heal
The Ranger has been given the ability to heal others, either stand next to a teammate and supply him with the use button (default is F) or throw Health packs which supplies about a third of his health.
Also the ranger can deactivate deployables by pressing use button (deafult F) at them. This is used to be able to walk through them if they are placed in some narrow areas.
