movement 1

As in most FPS nowadays you can jump, crouch, strafe and walk back and forward, but XMP has a number of new movements which allows extreme speed and maneuverability.

Dodge
By pressing a direction button (forward, backward, strafe left or strafe right) twice in under 0.25 seconds (configurable) your character will take a fast leap in that direction, perfect for dodging slow going projectiles such as rockets or just making it really hard for the enemy to hit/keep track of you. Leap speed and length varies depending on the class where the lightest one (the ranger) is the fastest. Hot tip is that you should hold sprint at the same moment as you dodge, because it will boost both speed and length slightly.

Double dodge
The double dodge is used to move quickly and long. One of these jumps can save you a lot of time compared to normal walking or sprinting, especially in combo with sliding (read more about that below). To do this simply dodge and make a jump while in the air. It's recommended that you hold sprint while doing this as it will boost length and speed dramatically but will drain a lot more energy. Also keep in mind that you can perform the jump while dodging anytime you want before you touch the ground. So let's say you're standing on a hill and want to get down without taking any fall damage. Then make the dodge and just before you touch the ground you perform the extra jump.

Double jump
Just tap jump once, then tap jump again. This will let you perform an extra jump while in air. Holding sprint will boost your speed a little but you'll still be very slow and vulnerable. Since its speed is so slow the enemies predictability of where you're going to land will be high which makes this very risky to use in close combat (especially if you're a gunner). Try to master dodging, sprint dodging and normal jumps, and use these in a combo.

Wall jumping
Find a wall and walk towards it with your vision in any direction, jump up to the wall and double tap the direction in the opposite way of the wall. So if you're walking towards the wall, looking at it, jump up to it and tap backwards twice fast. If done correctly your character will perform an extra small jump out from the wall. Could be usefull to trick or confuse an enemy but is most used to perform boost jumps and the special jump between the artifact node and middle floor on Alcazar.

Boost jumping
This is a bug that has been carried with the unreal engine. A similar version of it exsist in ut2003. Find a flat wall and do this: double jump, wall jump, double jump. If done correct you will fly very high/long but will drain almost all of your personal energy. If holding sprint you'll even gain more speed/length. This can be used to get onto high areas or slow down when falling a long way. More about places to use it on can be found in the advanced section, because there are alot of them and they're really useful!

Sliding/Sloping
On certain hills/buildings you can slide since they are leaning in a certain way. Find a place that leans but you can't walk up on it. Then perform a sprint double dodge towards it and you will slide all the way up unless it's a really long hill/building. More about places to use this at can be found at advanced section.
